New Jersey Wine Tours with a Private Chauffeur
A wine day in New Jersey usually means a drive of more than an hour each way, two or three tastings, and a ride home at the end of the afternoon. With a chauffeur, nobody in the group has to be the designated driver. Our New Jersey wine tours start at your door in Bergen County or nearby, head west to the hills of Hunterdon and Warren Counties, and are priced by the hour, counted from our garage in Rochelle Park and back.

Most NJ winery tours we run from Bergen County stay in Hunterdon and Warren Counties, because the drive leaves time for two tastings and lunch. The South Jersey wineries are a different trip: at two hours or more each way, they are too far for a relaxed day from Bergen. These are the usual drive times from Rochelle Park:

Four Friends in an SUV: Beneduce, Lunch and Unionville
The chauffeur picks up four friends in Bergen County at 10:30 a.m. The first tasting is at Beneduce Vineyards in Pittstown; lunch is nearby, and the second stop is Unionville Vineyards in Ringoes. Everyone is home around 6:30 p.m. That is about 8 hours, garage to garage, with two wineries and no rushing.

A Birthday Group of 12 in a Mercedes Sprinter
A birthday group of 12 spends the day at Beneduce and Alba. The group books its tastings ahead of time, and the chauffeur keeps the schedule between them. The bottles they buy ride sealed in the back, and on the way home each guest is dropped at their own door.
What makes both days work is keeping the plan to two or three wineries. Because the hours count from our garage, a Hunterdon or Warren County day usually runs 7 to 8 hours in total. New Jersey wine tasting tours are billed by the hour, per vehicle, from our garage and back, with a minimum number of hours for each vehicle. These are the starting prices for a 6-hour tour:

Cape May Works Better as a Weekend
At 2 h 30 min to 3 hours each way, Cape May is too far for a comfortable same-day tour. Most clients book two separate one-way rides: we drop them in Cape May on Friday and pick them up on Sunday, which is the most economical option. Each ride costs $672.40* in a sedan, each way, and an SUV for the same trip is quoted upon request.
If your group wants a vehicle and chauffeur for the whole weekend, we bill by the hour, and because the trip is overnight outside the New York area, we add the chauffeur’s hotel room and meals to the bill. For that option, we send a written quote.
Tastings, Lunch and the Bottles You Bring Home
A few rules keep wine tours in NJ running smoothly:
- You book the tastings. Many wineries now ask groups to reserve a tasting time, and they want the booking in your name. We plan the route and the timing between wineries around those reservations.
- We suggest lunch. Your chauffeur is happy to recommend a lunch stop along the way; you book it and pay for it.
- No drinking on board. Alcohol is not permitted in our vehicles without our written approval in advance, whether you travel in a sedan or on a bus.
- Bottles ride sealed. Wine you buy at the wineries travels sealed in the trunk or the luggage area.
- Tastings are 21 and over. The wineries only pour for guests 21 and older.

Reserving a Date During Harvest Season
For weekends during busy periods, book a sedan or SUV two to three weeks ahead, and book a Sprinter or minibus at least a month ahead. The cancellation notice is 7 days for a Sprinter and 35 days for a minibus or motorcoach, so confirm your headcount first. Wine Country Questions We Hear from First-Time Tour Groups
Is a weekday or a Sunday better than a Saturday?
Often, yes. Harvest weekends in late September and October are the busiest at the wineries, so a weekday or a Sunday tour is calmer and tastings are easier to book.
Will our wine be safe in the trunk on a warm day?
The trunk gets hot, so bring a cooler bag if you plan to buy several bottles on a warm day.
Do the hours start when we are picked up?
No. Tours are billed garage to garage, so the hours include the drive from our garage in Rochelle Park to your first pickup and back after the last drop-off.
