For a mini bus rental in NJ, the 23-seater suits a department outing or a wedding party with little luggage, while an airport run with large suitcases usually calls for the 37-passenger bus or the motorcoach. How Charter Hours Are Counted and What Is Added
Buses are booked by the hour, counted garage to garage: from the time the bus leaves our garage until it returns. Hourly rates are quoted for each trip. The bus and driver stay with your group for all the hours booked, so they wait during the game, the tour or the conference and are ready when you are. Added to the NJ bus rental quote:
- tolls, charged at the round-trip rate
- parking, including bus parking passes at venues that require them
- a gratuity of at least 15%
- the driver’s room and meals on long-distance and overnight trips outside the New York area

A school day at the Liberty Science Center
A 55-passenger motorcoach takes a class from Bergen County to the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City for the day. The bus leaves after morning attendance, drops the group at the main entrance, parks nearby during the visit and has everyone back before dismissal, about 6 hours garage to garage. Field trips and campus moves are planned through our school and college transportation.
A conference hotel, with side trips
A 37-passenger mini bus brings employees from the office to a conference hotel in the morning and back in the evening. The bus and driver stay with the group all day for side trips. Long Days, Overnight Trips and Travel to Other States
Federal rules limit a bus driver to 10 hours of driving after 8 hours off duty, and to 15 hours on duty in total. For a very long day, we plan either a second driver or a hotel night for the driver, and on long-distance and overnight trips outside the New York area, the driver’s room and meals are added to the bill. That is how groups reach Washington, Philadelphia, Boston or upstate New York without cutting the itinerary short.

Insurance Papers, Cancellations and Waiting on a Charter
How does a school or venue get a certificate of insurance?
Email us the exact name and address of the certificate holder and the trip date, and we issue the certificate for that trip. Our coverage and chauffeur screening are described on our duty of care page.
What if we need to cancel a bus?
Mini bus and motorcoach reservations must be canceled at least 35 days before the trip.
Does the bus leave after dropping us off?
No. The bus and driver stay with your group for the hours booked, so the bus is waiting when the event, visit or meeting ends. Only the parking location changes from venue to venue.
