Private Transportation to Prudential Center
Prudential Center stands in downtown Newark, a few blocks from Newark Penn Station. It has been home to the NHL’s New Jersey Devils since 2007 and hosts Seton Hall men’s basketball, major concerts and family shows, with about 16,500 seats for hockey and up to about 19,500 for concerts. When the arena fills, the streets around it jam before the doors open and again the moment the event ends, which is where private transportation to Prudential Center earns its keep.
Our riders here are mostly friends and families going to Devils games and concerts, companies taking guests to a suite, and people flying into Newark for a show.
Hourly or Two One-Way Rides: Choosing How to Book an Event Night
There are two ways to book, and the choice decides what happens while the game or concert is on:
- Hourly: the chauffeur stays nearby for the whole event and is ready when you come out. The minimum is 4 hours for a sedan and 5 hours for an SUV or Sprinter, counted garage to garage.
- Two one-way rides: one ride to the arena and one back at a set time, with the chauffeur leaving in between.
From Bergen County and Manhattan, hourly usually makes more sense, because the car is there the moment the event ends. Our hourly chauffeur service page explains how the time is counted.
Where the Car Drops You Off and Finds You After the Final Horn
We usually drop off at the rideshare zone at Mulberry Street and Clinton Street, a short walk from the arena, or as close as the police traffic plan allows on event nights. Before the end of the game or show, the chauffeur texts you the exact pickup spot, the car and the plate. It is usually the same zone or a quieter corner a block away that we agree on in advance, and you can always call the chauffeur if the crowd makes it confusing.
If the game goes to overtime or the encore runs long, an hourly booking is simple: the car is still there, and any extra time is billed at the hourly rate. On a return ride booked for a set time, text or call dispatch when the event runs late and we adjust; after the first 15 minutes, waiting is billed by the minute.
When there is a second big event in downtown Newark on the same night, traffic on McCarter Highway and Broad Street gets slow. On those nights we set the pickup a couple of blocks from the arena and text you walking directions to the car.
A Suite Night for Twelve Guests
A typical corporate booking: a company hosting 12 guests in a suite for a Devils game.
- A Mercedes Sprinter picked the group up at their office in Bergen County.
- The group was dropped at the arena an hour before the puck drop.
- The Sprinter was back at the agreed spot about 10 minutes after the final horn.
Drive Times on Game and Concert Nights
Event traffic roughly doubles the drive from Newark Airport and adds 15 to 30 minutes from elsewhere:
| To Prudential Center from | Normal traffic | Event night |
| Newark Airport (EWR) | 10 to 15 min | 20 to 30 min |
| Rochelle Park, Bergen County | 30 to 40 min | 45 to 60 min |
| Midtown Manhattan (Times Square) | 35 to 50 min | 1 h to 1 h 20 min, via the Lincoln Tunnel |
For most events, plan to arrive 45 minutes to an hour before the start. Security lines can be long for sold-out concerts and playoff games, and the extra time lets you find your seats and get food before it starts. For a regular-season game, 30 to 45 minutes is usually enough.
Newark Airport to Prudential Center for a Game or a Show
Newark Liberty is the closest airport to the arena, 10 to 15 minutes away on a normal day, which makes it easy to fly in for a game or a concert. For a ride from Newark Airport to Prudential Center, dispatch tracks your flight and moves the pickup with the actual landing time, and the chauffeur waits up to 60 minutes after a domestic arrival and up to 90 minutes after an international one at no extra charge. You can go to your hotel first or straight to the arena, and guests landing at JFK or LaGuardia can be picked up there as well.
The airport pickup is the part out-of-town fans worry about, and one client summed up his Newark arrivals this way:
“Always a courteous driver. In time and easy pickup especially at crazy Newark Airport” (Anthony S., Google review)
Another passenger met on arrival kept it just as short:
“Driver was waiting for us Helped w/the luggage Made the ride a comfortable experience” (Barry S., Google review)

SUVs, Sprinters and Coaches for Game Nights
For Prudential Center transportation, groups book the SUV most often, for up to 6 passengers. The Mercedes Sprinter is next, for office and family groups of 7 to 14. A 55-passenger motorcoach is mostly for large company or fan club outings, and our charter bus rentals cover those in detail. Whatever the vehicle, every car service to Prudential Center or Prudential Center limo booking follows the same pickup plan described above.

Leaving Early, Late Finishes and Seton Hall Games
What if we want to leave before the end of the game?
On an hourly booking, the car is already nearby, so just text or call the chauffeur. On a return ride booked for a set time, call dispatch and we move the pickup earlier if a chauffeur can get there in time.
Is there a surcharge if a concert lets out after midnight?
Yes. Pickups between midnight and 4:59 a.m. carry a $25 surcharge, plus gratuity.
Do you also drive Seton Hall students and alumni to games?
Yes. For rides to Seton Hall games at the arena, the pickup plan above applies, and trips to and from the South Orange campus are covered on our Seton Hall transportation page.
