New Jersey Wedding Transportation

On a wedding day, the cars are what connect every part of the schedule: getting ready, the ceremony, photos, the reception and the ride home at the end of the night. Our New Jersey wedding transportation is planned from your timeline, with a car for the couple, a larger vehicle for the wedding party and, when guests stay at a hotel, a shuttle between the hotel and the venue. May, June, September and October are our busiest wedding months, with December close behind, so the best weekends go early.

How We Plan a Wedding Day, Hour by Hour

This is how we typically plan the vehicles for a 4:00 p.m. ceremony with the reception at a different venue:

Time What moves
1:30 p.m. An SUV or Sprinter collects the wedding party from the hotel for photos.
2:45 p.m. The couple’s car picks up the bride or groom and the parents.
3:15 p.m. First guest shuttle run from the hotel, about 45 minutes before the ceremony.
3:40 p.m. Second guest run, about 20 minutes before the ceremony, so nobody is late and nobody waits too long.
4:45 p.m. Vehicles are ready at the ceremony exit: the couple leaves for photos, guests ride to the reception.
10:30 p.m. The guest shuttle starts looping back to the hotel every 30 to 45 minutes; the last run leaves 15 to 20 minutes after the reception ends.

A typical setup: a Saturday wedding in Bergen County with about 150 guests. An SUV brings the couple to the ceremony and on to the reception, a Sprinter carries the wedding party, and a 37-seat mini bus runs guests between the hotel and the venue, twice before the ceremony and in loops at the end of the night. The chauffeurs get the timeline and the venue coordinator’s cell number the week before.

When several vehicles work the same day, they need to look and run like one team, which is what one client noticed about both of her chauffeurs:

“We had a wonderful experience with Airbrook. Both drivers were nicely dressed, professional, and timely.” (D’andrea W., Google review)

Cars for the Couple, the Wedding Party and Close Family

For couples looking for a wedding limo service in NJ, we suggest the Lincoln Nautilus, a sedan or an SUV; for the wedding party, an SUV or a Mercedes Sprinter. The sedans, SUVs and Nautilus have leather seats, the Nautilus has Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth so you can play your own music, and the Sprinter has tinted windows and a multi-speaker sound system.

Vehicle Passengers Minimum Starting price
Sedan Up to 3 4 hours $94.90* per hour
Lincoln Nautilus Up to 3 4 hours Quoted on request
SUV Up to 6 5 hours $116.80* per hour
Passenger van Up to 13 5 hours Quoted on request
Mercedes Sprinter Up to 14 5 hours Quoted on request

*Starting prices. Tolls, parking, and a gratuity of at least 15% are added to every reservation.

For the couple’s car, being on time in a spotless vehicle is the whole point, and it is what one client remembered about her ride:

“He arrived right on time in a clean, comfortable, and stylish vehicle. I truly appreciated the smooth and pleasant ride.” (Greeballa M., Google review)

Running a Wedding Shuttle Between the Hotel and the Venue

A wedding shuttle starts from the timeline and the guest count. Guests wait in the hotel lobby, and the chauffeur comes in to announce the bus. If guests are split between two hotels, we either add a stop or add a second vehicle so the loops stay short. These are the sizes couples book, from the most common:

Buses are quoted on request for your date and hours. When celebrations stretch over a whole weekend, with a welcome party and a brunch, we plan timed loops as an event shuttle service, and guests flying in can be met at Newark, JFK, or LaGuardia through our airport rides. For the night out before the wedding, a bachelorette party runs on its own schedule.

Venues Our Chauffeurs Know, and What to Plan at Each

Venues Across Bergen County

  • The Rockleigh, at the end of Paris Avenue in Rockleigh: couples usually book a sedan or SUV for themselves and Sprinters or mini buses for the guest shuttle; about 40 guests from one hotel, for example, fit in two 23-seat mini buses. The couple’s car pulls up at the main entrance. Paris Avenue is quiet and narrow, so vehicles never wait on the road: they drop at the entrance and then wait where the venue staff direct them, and large coaches follow the route the venue recommends. The last run home is agreed with the couple and the venue manager, usually 15 minutes after the reception ends, with an earlier run for guests who want to leave sooner.
  • Old Tappan Manor on Orangeburg Road in Old Tappan: the venue has its own lot, so the couple’s SUV and a 23-seat mini bus for guests wait on site, and the chauffeur checks in with the venue coordinator on arrival.
  • Florentine Gardens on Westwood Avenue in River Vale: drop-off at the front entrance. Garden photos often run long, so we add 15 minutes of cushion to the couple’s car.
  • The Venetian on River Drive in Garfield: valets run the front drive, so we time the couple’s arrival with the venue staff, and guest buses use the spot the staff assigns.
  • Seasons on Pascack Road in Washington Township: drop-off at the front entrance. Pascack Road is a two-lane road, so buses wait where the venue asks and pull up for each loop.

Jersey City and Essex County

Liberty House sits inside Liberty State Park in Jersey City, reached from Turnpike Exit 14B. On summer weekends the park roads are busy, so we leave earlier, and buses wait where the venue staff directs them. Pleasantdale Château in West Orange is up a long wooded driveway off Eagle Rock Avenue, so we check with the venue where a mini bus or motorcoach can turn and wait.

Central Jersey and the Shore

Park Château Estate and Gardens in East Brunswick is 50 to 70 minutes from Bergen, and guest shuttles usually run from hotels near the venue, so we plan the loops from there. At the Asbury Ocean Club, drop-off is at the hotel entrance on Ocean Avenue; in summer the avenue is slow, and parking is tight, so the chauffeur waits nearby and comes back when called. We also drive, less often, to Bonnet Island Estate in Manahawkin, near the Route 72 causeway to Long Beach Island, where we plan 2 to 2.5 hours from Bergen on summer Saturdays, and to The Ashford Estate in Allentown, about 1 h 15 min to 1 h 30 min away on country roads, where we confirm the entrance for large coaches with the venue before the day.

Weather never checks the wedding timeline, and small things count, as one client noted after a rainy pickup:

“Really nice driver. Arrived promptly with a great big umbrella.” (Vivian, Google review)

Holding the Date, Decorating the Car and Running Late

  • Holding your date: the date is held with the card on file, pre-authorized for the estimated charges. For larger vehicles we may ask for a deposit; if we do, the amount is on the quote, and the deposit is non-refundable. The rest is charged to the card on file before or on completion of the service.
  • Decorations: small decorations such as ribbons are fine if they do not damage the paint or the interior; tell us when you book. No tape or stickers on the paint, and no confetti, glitter or rice inside the vehicle, because a cleaning charge applies if the vehicle needs cleaning afterward.
  • A reception that runs late: the couple, the planner or a family member tells the chauffeur, who confirms with dispatch. Extra time is billed at the same hourly rate as the booking, for the time actually used. If a late finish is likely, tell us before the day, especially for buses, so we can plan the chauffeur’s schedule.

Champagne, Cancellations and Photo Stops: Questions From Couples

Can we have champagne in the car?

Alcohol is not permitted in our vehicles without our written approval in advance, so please plan the champagne toast at the venue.

How late can we cancel a vehicle without charge?

Sedans and SUVs can be canceled up to 2 hours before pickup, by phone. Passenger vans need 48 hours’ notice, Sprinters 7 days, and mini buses and motorcoaches 35 days.

Our photographer wants a separate photo location. Does that change the schedule?

Yes. When photos are taken somewhere other than the ceremony or reception venue, we pick up the wedding party 15 minutes earlier than in the sample timeline.
