• Terminal 1 is one of the slowest, because the New Terminal One is being built next to it.
• Terminal 4, used by Delta and many international airlines, is the busiest international terminal, with long customs lines in the afternoon and evening.
• Terminals 5 and 7: since May 2025, car service pickups have been at the lot by the Howard Beach AirTrain station. You ride the free AirTrain there, or, with a meet and greet, the chauffeur meets you at baggage claim instead.
• Terminal 6, next to JetBlue’s Terminal 5, is opening in phases, so check your airline’s terminal close to your travel date.
• Terminal 8 serves American Airlines and its partners.

Meet and Greet After a Long International Flight

If you would rather not look for a car at all, ask for a meet and greet when you book. The chauffeur waits in the arrivals area at baggage claim with a name sign, or outside the customs exit on an international arrival, helps with the bags and walks you to the car; the meet and greet charge is added to your quote. The free waiting time starts at landing, 60 minutes after a flight within the US and 90 minutes after an international one, then billed by the minute.

Here is how that plays out on a typical arrival. A family of four lands at Terminal 4 after an overnight flight, with a stroller and six suitcases. They booked an SUV with a meet and greet, so the chauffeur is waiting outside the customs exit with a name sign. Customs takes more than an hour, and the wait still falls inside the 90 free minutes.

Which Way Our Chauffeurs Drive From New Jersey and Rockland

Every route to JFK crosses a bridge or tunnel, and the best one depends on where you start and the hour. These are the routes our chauffeurs use and the times they try to avoid:

The worst traffic on the way to JFK runs from 3 to 7 p.m., on both the Cross Bronx and the Belt Parkway. That is why an evening departure needs a slightly earlier pickup than a morning one, even though the flight is later in the day.

Drive Times and Starting Fares Between JFK and New Jersey

For a car service to JFK from New Jersey, these are the times and one-way starting fares our dispatchers quote. Before an international flight, we suggest a pickup 4 hours before departure from any of these towns, and 4.5 hours from Nanuet.

Connecting Between JFK, Newark and LaGuardia

Airport-to-airport transfers depend on traffic far more than on distance, so we plan them around both flights:

• JFK to Newark. Allow at least 5 hours between landing at JFK and a domestic departure from Newark, and at least 6 hours for an international departure. The drive alone takes 50 to 65 minutes midday or late in the evening, 60 to 90 minutes at the weekday peaks and close to 2 hours on a Friday afternoon. The sedan fare starts at $211.44*.
• JFK to LaGuardia. The drive takes 30 to 45 minutes, so 3.5 to 4 hours between flights is usually enough after an international arrival. The fare starts at $157.11* by sedan and $228.04* by SUV.

One transfer we run often: a client lands at JFK from abroad and has to catch a domestic flight out of Newark. We time the pickup around customs and take the Verrazzano or the Holland Tunnel, whichever is moving that day. What if my flight from overseas lands after midnight?

The chauffeur is there as usual. A pickup between midnight and 4:59 a.m. carries a $25 surcharge plus gratuity, and the 90 free minutes for an international arrival still apply.

Can I bring a pet on the ride home from JFK?

Yes. There is no charge for the pet itself; mention it when you book and bring a crate or carrier. A cleaning charge applies only if the vehicle needs cleaning afterward, starting at $150 for a sedan or SUV. Service animals ride free.

Do you have child seats for families landing at JFK?

Yes, at $15 per seat. The parent installs the seat, so plan a few extra minutes at the car.

Can the same chauffeur take me to several stops after I land?

Yes. When the day runs from the airport into a series of meetings or errands with no fixed end, the chauffeur can stay with you between stops. For a full day, booking the car by the hour is usually simpler.
